Job Requirments for the 2009 growing season are listed as follows:

 

 

1. Must be at least 18 years old with a valid driver's license.

 

2. Must have reliable transportation.

 

3. Must be dependable, on time, and dedicated to full season.

**The full season requires employees to be 100% present thoughout the months of June to Mid-October. October may drop to a one day a week as the season slows way down.

**Farm work is seasonal and steady for approximately five months and none there after until next growing season.

**May be an ideal postion for students or those who have other work or vacation during the off season. Willing to work with students schedule.

 

4. Experience is helpful but not necessary. Enthusiasm, strength, endurance, and upbeat personality goes a long way.

 

5. Must be able to lift up to 60-80 pounds and kneal or squat for long periods of time while planting, weeding or harvesting. 

**Farm work is extremely hard work and intended for the production of mixed vegetables, berries, and flowers.

 

 

Job Description:

 

1.There is one full-time positions available four days a week from Tuesday through Friday for five months from June to Mid-October.

 

2.There is one part-time position open for two days a week on Tuesdays and Fridays from June to September

Farm Work Tentative Schedule and Payment:

Full-Time:

Work begins at 7:00 am until 3:30 pm, four days a week,  Tuesday -- Friday at $8.00 per/hour plus organic vegetables. One 15 minute break at 9:30am and 45 minute lunch at noon.

Planting, weeding, harvesting, and various farm chores demands our full attention.

Strawberry picking demands harvest twice a week every Tuesday and Friday after the lunch break.

Planting, harvesting, washing and packing produce will take place in the mornings while still cool followed by intensive weeding and/or other farm chores during warm and sunny afternoons.  

Remember to pack a lunch and water container, bring appropriate gloves, long sleeves, hat, and/or sunscreen; waterproof shoes or boots and rain gear is recommended.

Part-Time:

Same description above applies for part-time position on Tuesdays and Fridays for Market Harvest.
