Biography:

The owner, Gretchen (Norman) Woody began organic farming in 1999.

She began her stewardship for Organic Farming of mixed vegetable crops on 5-acres at Cedarville Farm and continued to work for the owner, Mike Finger for three consecutive seasons.

While attending college in Bellingham, WA and studying Holistic Healing Arts in Mendocino, California she received a Bachelors of Arts Degree from Western Washington University in 2003. Gretchen designed her own concentration from Fairhaven College titled, Holistic Homesteading and Sustainable Agriculture.

After graduating and using her BA Degree, Gretchen began working for Dusty Williams at Broadleaf Farm for two growing seasons in 2004 and 2005. She continued to work and live on the farm at Broadleaf while starting her own farm business.

In 2005, Gretchen created and developed her own farm on leased land based on sustainable and organic agriculture. Her agricultural intentions were influenced by the philosophy of Ayurvedic Holism and the Advanced Healing Arts.

In 2010, the farm owner purchased land and now manages more than 15-acres. After 17 years of farming experience, Gretchen has established herself and son as dedicated members of their community. She is working as a food producer of Whatcom County and has a strong committed relationship with the land.

Spring Frog Farm was born when Gretchen expanded her business on 15-acres and produced for accounts with  5 Haggen Grocery Stores, 3 Markets Grocery, and 2 Community Food Co-Ops, several local restaurants, catering, special orders, farm stand, and the farmers markets. Gretchen has now retired from the Grocery Distribution and Farmers Markets. After certifing organic with the usda government agency, Gretchen as dropped that label and is going a new label called Certified Grown Local by the Grown Local Global LLC.

The New Product Line for Herbal Wellness, Health, and Beauty are Available for Direct Sales and for Wholesale Marketing in Bulk.

The  Holistic Homestead continues to unfold through education and healing for all ages, communicating with nature spirit beings, balancing with the earth's elements, and attuning to the mysteries of our Universe.

The farmer’s practice of sustainable agriculture intends

“to restore the health of the soil to restore the health of the plants, animals, and humans as a health preventative method for all life.”
