The farmer has been researching and networking to supply produce in eco-friendly packaging to encourage less impact on the environment. Plastic products are traditionally made from polyethylene, a petroleum based plastic which is a non-renewable resource. Corn starch, sugarcane, or other plant based plastics are made from a renewable resources and are manufactured and distributed by select companies that have been BPI Certified by the Biodegradable Products Institute. 

PLEASE NOTE:   Other companies are advertising their bags as a "bio-degradable made with corn starch," and have not been BPI Certified. In fact, these imitation products are spliced with polyethylene (petroleum plastic) and do not bio-degrade. They are easily recognizable to the touch as they feel like regular plastic with a crinkling texture.

**Note: The corn-plastic produce bags are intended to safely carry greens to your home. The responsible packaging may NOT store greens as long due to the material being more porous, breathable, and permeable. To store fresh greens longer, PLEASE transfer into a different storage container.   Greens  will  last  from 7-10  days  when  stored  properly.
